Your data, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Clxrity is built around a simple idea: your school life belongs to you. This policy explains what information the app and website handle, why they need it, and how you can control it.

Effective and last updated August 23, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Clxrity iPhone app, the Clxrity web app, the marketing website at clxrity.app, and related support communications (together, the “Service”). In this policy, “Clxrity,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.

The iPhone app can be used without an account, in which case your student record stays on that device unless you later choose to sign in. The web app requires an account so your record can be loaded securely in the browser and kept in sync.

2. Information we handle

Information you provide

Clxrity handles the information you choose to add. Depending on the features you use, that may include:

  • Account information: email address, display name, username, authentication provider, and an account identifier.
  • School and planning information: school, year, interests, classes, schedules, grades, GPA, assignments, events, goals, habits, and study time.
  • College and career information: test scores, intended majors, college lists, application status, essays, recommendation and scholarship tracking, activities, awards, certifications, and skills.
  • Resume information: contact, education, experience, and other details you choose to include. Some optional resume fields may be sensitive; they are blank unless you fill them in.
  • Support information: your email address and anything you include when you contact support.

Email passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication. We do not receive or store your readable password. If you use Google or Apple to sign in, we receive the account identifier and profile details you authorize that provider to share, such as your name and email address.

Information processed automatically

The Service and its infrastructure providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and secure the Service, such as an IP address, browser or device type, user-agent information, authentication state, and request timing. Clxrity does not use that information for advertising or cross-service tracking.

Optional schedule import

On the web, schedule text that you paste is parsed in your browser. If you choose the photo or PDF importer, the selected file is sent through Clxrity's hosting function to Anthropic's API so it can extract class details. Clxrity does not intentionally keep the source file after the request is processed. You review the extracted classes before choosing what to save to your account.

3. How we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the planner, GPA, college, career, resume, and related features you choose to use;
  • create and authenticate your account;
  • save, restore, export, delete, and sync your record across signed-in devices;
  • operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the Service;
  • respond to support requests; and
  • comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.

We do not sell or rent personal information, serve ads, build advertising profiles, or use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

4. Where information is stored and shared

Your device and browser

The iPhone app saves a local copy of your record on your device. The web app keeps an account-specific local cache so it can load quickly and remain useful through a temporary connection problem. Signing out of the web app removes that browser cache.

Service providers

We use a limited set of service providers to operate Clxrity. They process information for the purposes described here and under their own applicable terms and privacy commitments:

  • Google Firebase provides account authentication and Cloud Firestore storage. Signed-in records are stored under a unique user ID and protected by server-side rules that permit a user to access only their own record.
  • Google and Apple process sign-in information when you choose their sign-in options.
  • Netlify hosts the website and runs the server-side schedule-import function.
  • Anthropic processes a schedule photo or PDF only when you choose the AI-assisted importer.

Firebase encrypts supported data in transit and at rest. No internet service is completely risk-free, but we use access controls and product design choices intended to keep your record private to your account.

Other disclosures

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the security or rights of users or the Service, or as part of a business transfer where the recipient must continue to honor this policy. We do not disclose student records to schools, colleges, advertisers, or data brokers.

Essential browser storage

The web app uses local browser storage and Firebase's authentication persistence to keep you signed in and cache your account record. These are used for core functionality, not advertising. Your browser controls can remove local storage, but doing so may sign you out or clear the local cache.

5. Your choices and controls

  • Use the iPhone app without an account: choose the local option during setup if you do not want cloud sync.
  • Review and edit: change the information in your profile and tools at any time.
  • Export: use Settings → Export my data to create a JSON backup.
  • Notifications: turn deadline and event alerts off in Settings or in iOS system settings.
  • Schedule import: use the local text importer instead of the optional photo/PDF importer.
  • Delete: erase local information or permanently delete your signed-in account and cloud record from Settings.

To ask about, correct, export, or delete information you cannot manage in the product, email support@clxrity.app. We may need to verify that you control the account before acting on a request.

6. Retention and deletion

Your account information and cloud record are generally kept while your account remains active. Device copies remain until you erase them, remove the app, sign out where applicable, or clear browser storage.

Deleting your account from Me → Settings → Account → Delete account initiates deletion of the Clxrity account and associated cloud record. Local app data is also removed by the iPhone deletion flow. Service providers may retain limited information in security logs or backups for their ordinary retention periods, or where required by law.

If you only erase your student data while keeping the account, your login remains active. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. Children's privacy

Clxrity is intended for students age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through Clxrity, contact support@clxrity.app so we can investigate and delete it.

8. International processing

Clxrity's providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Clxrity evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@clxrity.app. You can also visit the Support page for account and troubleshooting guidance.
